In the CIA’s Electronic Reading Room is a collection of declassified National Intelligence Surveys. These are detailed studies of various countries. Dating mostly from the early/mid-1970s, much of the specific information is out of date, but a lot more, especially the geographic sections, is still relevant and useful. These are very good resources for historical study and wargaming.
