So my time for Fuldapocalypse has basically ended. Am I outright stopping the blog the way I did for the Creative Corner? No. However, and this is important, I no longer feel obligated to update it. So if I make one post every few months or move to a different platform or just leave it (don’t worry, I will keep it up as an archive) I don’t know. But Fuldapocalypse has ceased to be really interesting for me as a creative endeavor.
But I’m not sad or angry or disappointed. Fuldapocalypse started as a way to try and catalog a genre (conventional 1980s WW3) I thought was huge. It turned out to be too small to support a blog and my format too limiting. But then I found that it could become a general review blog. Then a general blog. I wrote and read and expanded all my horizons so massively. I could finally open my eyes and see the elephant in front of me.
So this blog has provided eight (!) great years of content, fun, and education. I remain extremely proud of it.

Thanks so much for everything you did/do for the Blog! I know that it was fundamental to my decision to write the Soviet Endgame series, and I know I’m not the only one. In some ways, while it is a small niche, thanks to your efforts, it’s bigger today than it was when you started this project. I’m looking forward to whatever comes next!

I came late to the party but plan on reading some of your earlier stuff and it was one of the inspirations to start my own blog / website on the same subject (ww3natopact.wordpress.com).

I will miss you, big time. Several years ago, I made a decision to stop drinking and to start reading, instead. When I made that lifechanging decision, “Coiler’s Creative Corner” was one of the first blogs about books that I encountered. Since then, I have read hundreds of books, and many of them were chosen based upon your recommendations (positive and negative), and I have even read several books authored by you (‘The Sure Bet King’ will always be my favorite.) I have always admired your sharp wit, observations, humor, intelligence and writing style. You are a terrific person Colin. I wish you nothing but the best and I thank you for all the joy that you have given me.
